OU K20 START AUDITION INFO & SCRIPT

K20 START Audition Information and Audition Script

Background

The K20 GEAR UP for LIFE (Learning and Investigating Future Education) project is a partnership between the K20 Center for Educational and Community Renewal (K20 Center) and 28 high-poverty, mostly rural schools located in 23 Oklahoma school districts. The partnership seeks to directly impact 8,258 students through a 7-year project beginning with 6th and 7th grades in October 2023.

START App
The START App (Students Taking Augmented Reality Tours) provides immersive tours of participating colleges and universities through a fun, gamified approach. The app provides a 3D map that displays your location and indicates notable campus landmarks. As you visit these landmarks, you will view live-action videos, collect items, earn badges, and learn more about college life.

Character Roles

The K20 Center is seeking actors who reflect the diversity of our student population, appear to be of college-going age, and are comfortable reading on camera. Selected actors could be part of a talent pool used across various future tour productions.

Compensation

START video shoots primarily take place on the OU campus and last for a half day. Compensation for these video shoots is offered at a rate of $250 per half day. As tours are continually developed, we plan to rotate through a pool of actors. This project is ongoing over the next 5 years.

Audition Deadline September 22, 8pm

Please submit a video audition to scissortailsubmissions@gmail.com. Clearly film yourself reading the script below. Title files "Last Name, First Name - K20 Start". DO NOT SEND YOU TUBE LINKS. You can use www.wetransfer.com if your files are large. Thank you!

The Couch and Walker Centers, also called the "Towers," are OU residence halls. Located in the
center of campus, the Towers are within walking distance to many university buildings such as
the library, fitness center, and Student Union. The Walker Tower has the Housing Office, and the
Couch has the Residential Life Offices.

Welcome to the Couch Center! I'm a Resident Advisor, or "RA" for short. RAs can answer any
questions or concerns you have about dorm life. All first-year students are required to live on
campus. This is great, because it helps you feel connected to the community. If you live at Couch
or Walker, you'll live with a roommate and share a suite-style bathroom with another room. The
dorms also have lots of events. They're usually posted on the bulletin boards. The best advice I
can give you is to get involved!

Couch is an all-you-can-eat dining facility. OU offers a variety of meal plan options that consist
of points and meals. Points can be used at most of the restaurants and cafés on campus. Each
meal point is equal to one dollar. If you don't use all of your points in the fall semester, they
roll over to the spring. Meals can be used at the dining halls. You'll need to decide ahead of
time how many meals you'd like per week. They do not roll over.
